The location in Ostuni is certainly privileged, since this is one of the most beautiful tourist areas of Apulia, rich in

archaeological sites, castles, cathedrals, trulli (the famous houses with a cone roof) and farmhouses (masserie), olive groves, monuments, nature reserves, caves, beaches and cliffs. One day trips provide an insight into the most beautiful places of Salento and Valle d'Itria, in fact less than an hour away you can reach Alberobello, Castellana Grotte, Cisternino, Locorotondo, Martina Franca, Lecce and Otranto, Oria and Grottaglie, the zoosafari  in Fasano, and the natural reserve of Torre Guaceto.
In Ostuni you can find beautiful hills overlooking the Adriatic Sea. This landscape is  characterized by woods and Mediterranean maquis in the areas called Sant'Oronzo and S. Biagio, while the medieval village overlooks monumental olive groves, where the trees are centuries and thousands years old, which identify the "Park of the ancient olive trees", an area of high landscape value.
Ostuni is only 5 km from the sea, and has a long coastline of 19 km, is characterized by long sandy beaches (i.e. in the Regional Park from Torre Canne to Torre S. Leonardo) and by small bays that alternate with rocks (i.e. in the wild "Pozzella Tower" characterized by luxuriant Mediterranean maquis).


The bathing waters are of good quality and you can enjoy a very beautiful coastal scenery. Ostuni has been awarded several times the "Blue Flag" (by FEE) and, last year, also by the "Five sails" (by Legambiente).

Specifically Ostuni is:
-   from the beaches of "Villanova" - Camerini: 5-6 km.
-   from the "Regional Park of the Coastal dunes of Torre Canne - Torre San Leonardo": 8-9 km
-   from the beaches of "Pozzella Tower", "Costa Merlata", "Cala dei Ginepri":  8-9 km.



In a short distance you can get to the beaches in the nearby town of Carovigno, such as:

- "Torre Santa Sabina": 12 km
-   "Specchiolla", "Pantanaggianni": 15 km
-   The National Nature Reserve and Marine Protected Area of "Torre Guaceto": 20 km.

For those who love trekking or cycling there are well-marked trails and bike paths. There are excursions on horseback in nature, trekking and mountain biking in the Regional park of the coastal dunes. There are cycle routes, equipped with rest areas, along the Trajan road (built by the Romans in the 109 A.C.), surrounded by the ancient olive groves, and the Procaccia route along the coastal area, the path passes by historic farms (XVI - XIX century), the dolmen (II millennium B.C.), roman and medieval underground olive presses.

Trekking is fascinating in the natural scenic areas of San Biagio and Sant'Oronzo, or along the path that reaches the famous archaeological site of Santa Maria d'Agnano, an ancient place of worship where in '91 was found a tomb keeping inside the scheleton of a woman and her fetus, dating 22,000 years ago.

In 15 minutes by car you con reach tennis courts, football pitchs, bowling, cinema, children's play areas (all sites in the town) and various riding grounds in the countryside of Ostuni. Kite-surfing is also possible in the regional park of the coastal dunes.

Property location: the apartment is located in the historic center of Ostuni (eighteenth century), in a little square paved in stone, placed in an intimate position which is at the same time in the central area of the town: the dwelling is in fact a short distance from the town square (100 meters), from the town park (70 meters), from Viale Pola which is the main commercial street of Ostuni (200 meters).
The bar in the town park, the newsagent, the tobacco shop, the hairdresser, the beauty center, grocery stores (bakeries, fishmongers, butchers, etc..), post office, pizzeria and restaurants are all placed in a range between 50 and 100 meters from the house. The bar of the town park is equipped with outdoor tables and games for children.
Near the apartment there is a wide range of restaurants, also located in ancient oil mills.

Description of the house: This is a well restored eighteenth-century historic building, painted with lime, in the old town of Ostuni. It  occupies two floors, has a private entrance and terrace from which you can admire the sea, the rest of the ancient town and the town garden. On the first floor is located the kitchen with the dining and living room, the day bathroom, a closet; on the second floor are the double room, a single room, a little bathroom. The floor is made by stone and wood, doors and windows are made by wood. Like all historical buildings, it's cool in summer.

The living room has a bed-sofa with thick and comfortable mattress and antique-style furniture. The second floor is accessed by wooden stairs. The double bedroom, furnished in ethnic style, has a parquet floor and two windows looking towards the town park, which give plenty of light.

The house is supplied with gas heating.
The terrace is furnished with table and chairs, barbecue and a wooden bench.

Bedrooms and type of beds: 1 double room, 1 single room with one bed, a comfortable double bed-sofa in the living room. Total number of available beds: 2 + 2 + 1 = 5.

Number maximum of people: 4, but the presence of 5 beds offers the possibility to use either 2 + 2 beds or 2 + 1 + 1 beds.

Surface bedrooms: 20 square meters (double) + 6 sqm (single bedroom) + 20 sqm (living room).

Bathrooms: one on the first floor (3 sqm) + 1 bathroom on the second floor (sqm 2).

The guests will have at the arrival: linen / beds (No. 1 sheet set, No. 1 bedspread, blankets, duvet), N.1 towels set for each person; N. 1 tablecloth, N. 2 dish towels.

For periods longer than one week the number of sheets, towels, tablecloths etc. given to the guests will be double, to allow the spare.
It's possible to do the washing with the washing machine which is in the house, or alternatively there is a laundry at 50 meters from the house, or alternatively it may be required to wash the linen to the landlady with a surcharge of 15 € for each laundry.
